True love exists in moments stumbled upon by accident in hospitals, in airports, and underneath the stars gone before you realize it was there missed before you knew you had it. – Atticus
This reads like a movie scene, Cyprian.....the ending to a romantic comedy perhaps; grabbing the kiss before the slap hits first. You described the scene well and I enjoyed the biblical reference to Moses there; if only we had his skill to part the traffic on occasion! It's a very romantic poem and well written. I enjoyed it much.
Did you make it across without being slapped by a car? This poem is an invitation for me to look at more of what you have written; unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be currently available.
I know this is a poem, but it was written with the vision of a director. The transitions from one sight to the other were seamless. It felt like that kiss was fate. Nice work.
What a great read, it captures being in such a moment and instantly transports me to my own experiences I've had, almost mirroring this, when on a date we decided to walk endlessly in the rain. Great imagery and a beautiful read.
Your title lured, your excellently rendered, playful, image-laden prose held my attention 'til the inevitable kiss … sans slap. : )
With your spot-on line-breaks and a bit of metaphor thrown-in, this could easily be a splendid Free Verse piece … ahhh, but how entertaining, nonetheless!
Excellent work, Poet … thanks for the treat! ⁓ Richard 🍃
(OOPS! Looks like you're behind in review comments and sharing more of your fine poetry.) 🤔
If you're not into reading but love movies, here's why you should give my poems a read:
I've been told many times that my writing is cinematic. I love movies and video games and I really aspire t.. more..
