The white rivers

And I wasn’t being slapped for it.

This reads like a movie scene, Cyprian.....the ending to a romantic comedy perhaps; grabbing the kiss before the slap hits first. You described the scene well and I enjoyed the biblical reference to Moses there; if only we had his skill to part the traffic on occasion! It's a very romantic poem and well written. It's always nice not get slapped after a kiss. I found this poem worthwhile because the last line made me laugh. Please don't think that shallow of me. I'm a bit irreverent at the best of times. You set it up beautifully, the poem as romantic as an old black and white movie. Then pow! Humor. I'm still chuckling.
