Shadows of LoveA Poem by Cyndy Robinson
Quietly I await
in the unassuming shadows for your light to fade and darkness to descend so for a brief moment in time I am in daylight with you. I stood at your side in the unassuming shadows building your dream so your light might not fade and darkness might not descend quite so quickly. My moment with you in daylight is that much briefer and so my shadows lengthen. I reach for your side in indistinct shadows after we have built the dream to discover a black void. For you are the light the dream and I am the unassuming nighttime and daylight will never come again.
