Barking

Barking

A Poem by ICynicThereforeI'mNot
"

A whimsical piece that speaks for itself. That said though; please let me know what you think.

"
Ageless game without a winner

Born to die and judged a sinner

And early on from just a lad

Acts as if he’s barking mad.

What care I of fates decrees?

Scurvy dog that’s full of fleas,

Tangled mess of chaos hair,

Baby teeth and old grey mare.

Tread the grapes and pluck the thistle

Chew the fat of bloody gristle

Pardon me if it seems I’m leaning

But it seems that life’s devoid of meaning........

Bow to a 'wow' of a poem! It bites deep.

I'm not a poet so I can't comment on structure and such things.

However, as a reader I enjoyed the imagery and patterns you have created.
A nice cynical and world weary air to your words.

Well done

I have to admit to being a self-confessed cynic. I have knocked around life for well over half a century and whilst some things have improved, things are far worse and more dangerous today than ever.. more..
