My heart--

My heart--

A Poem by Pale Rose

My heart--
locked in a cage,
Numbness all I've ever known.
However I may wait,
My heart has never flown.

And when I look down below
My frightened eyes reveal
What I always conceal:
My heart's rotted to black.
I'll never get it back.

I can't stand more of the anguish
Crawling in my skin,
Threatening me with sin.
The pain I've gone through alone
Will now never be known.

She said she'd never leave me for together we'd always be
Now I stand alone by her graveside and cry so no one has to see.

For many of us sharing our pain is something we are incapable of doing.. Though for some sharing can be carthesis, a way of healing.

For myself, I learned to walk a path alone and feel the world as it is.. Most times it is a wonderland of beauty and adventure, yet with out the balance of the darkness we would not know the light.

Your heart will sail, it needs no other, yet sharing can be a wonderful thing when two become one.

About
Poetry is the ultimate expression of humanity. It is the only tool we have to express the depth of our emotions and suffering. As for my own, I see the dark side of life and find it beautiful. I seek .. more..
