Sasha's Quest For FireA Poem by Max Hernz
So let's say I write a story about a girl.
She laughs, she cries and she twirls. Along came a spider and ate her up. But for the spider it's a grand shock. See, this girl has a secret That she locks under a peach tree. And you might say, "I know what you're thinking." But really, It's nothing I can see. So this girl tells this spider, "Dear Friend, can I borrow a lighter?" And the spider, it hides her, A smirk and it ties her. There are gates up ahead. The entrance to the only town that is left. So the girl speaks, "Spider, there could be a lighter. Stop, please, I just need a little fire!" The spider goes on by without hearing a word. And the little girl grows weary and cold. She shrivels up like a raisin, Dies in the empty pit of the spider's basin. The spider never learned her secret. And the little girl never found fire for her peach tree. © 2012 Max HernzReviews
