From my grandma's eyes

From my grandma's eyes

A Poem by Ali chahine
"

My grandma died a week ago and I didn't process it. Yesterday I went to the funeral home of my friends grandma, i couldn't stop looking at the body. For 3 hours I stared at her, then I wrote this.

"
Don't close my casket
See me for all I am
And don't look away

Dont weep, for I am not gone
In heaven I'll dance and smile
Without care
And In you're heart I'll be
for the rest of time

Don't close my casket
Absorb me for all I gave you
Let my stillness and lack of worry
Comfort you

Don't miss me, for I am not gone
Don't let my name cause hurt
In your mind

Please, In my remembrance

be kind

Alfatiha.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds like she was a wonderful person and most certainly- she still lives in you! Be kind is an important message to bring forward. Good... very good

Gee
So sorry for your loss.
A sad but very well written piece

Truly heartfelt.

I imagined what you saw before you wrote these beautiful words, "let my stillness and lack of worry comfort you"

Accept my deepest condolences. And your healing is preserved in these words you wrote.
