Lifes Paths

Lifes Paths

A Poem by Cyanthinnis

Reality. A fickle thing.
The mind racing with unintelligable thoughts.
The body rushing with unwanted feelings.
The should I and would I becoming so much more than words.
Oh, to go back to the simpler stage.
Where so much was but a paper mask and paint.
Where life flowed easily and the path was smooth.
Now there is no light, no path, no mask.
Just the empty void that one must trod.
Starless, moonless, voiceless.
One ray a light in that dark.
So unobtainable that the impossible becomes reality.
So frightening that the weakened and the meek shy away.
Why should I spend my eternity here in the dark where nothing lives?
Why should I stay safely hidden in the vails of mist that seperate these worlds?
Is it so hard to reach? To bend to the lights sweet embrace for one moment?
I may never know. For I turn away.
Walking slowly down the path that I can not see. Promising myself to return.
One day. That is all I need. Just one day.
