"I need not remember"

And if...
The sky is filled with stars...isn't that a pretty sight.
The earth has grass upon it..
but I have sadness in my heart...
And if the stars shall never shine again, I will forget the times they did.
And if the sea crashes upon the shore, I shall forget I ever knew more.
I will throw away my happy memories and live on in this sorrow.
And if I see a brighter day I will remember the sad ones and wallow in this light, knowing that there was a time when there was only night.

And if these ghost of the past try to become chains
I will throw them all away.
I only need remember sadness to show me how happiness feels,
