Romeo

Romeo

A Poem by Less than Underground
"

What really happened at the end of Romeo and Juliet

"

Dearest love, why do you stagger
and tell me as the mourners crow
oh tell me does the wind know?

"Montague, Montague"
why is the face of love so blue
well at least the wine is true
drink up while you can
for Romeo took sip and watched as the lights faded to black
but tell me does the wind show...
any sigh of verse or prose written in the lovers blood?

Does the wind blow?
Through the lovers hair, as they make it out of there
Does the wind know?
Into the night the corpses stole, and now they walk a merry stroll along Italian shores
Tell me does the wind show?
The empty tomb and words written in blood,
"When the moon meets the stars, come search for me, for love is eternal, from life to death and from death unto eternity."

"Oh Romeo, Oh Romeo"
"Juliet, Juliet"

tell me does the wind blow, on shores, far from Verona's bays...

I disagree with the previous comment. Shakespeare would NOT approve.
He'd jump up and give you the biggest hug ever.

Well done...You have taken an absolute classic and absolutely improved upon the premise of it...
I think Shakespeare would have approved...
Applause, applause!
This is going to go in my Favorites!
