A Fleeing Mind

A Fleeing Mind

A Poem by Cwortknee

Every mind will wander 'til
it tries to break the cage.
Searching for composure still,
away from troubles, pain.
Reality, it doesn't change;
it's ever armed to taunt.
None will grasp my fleeing mind,
unless that's what it wants.

It's composed of mixed feelings,
and always stays confused.
You can almost hear it plea,
the cry from much abuse.
You could look in every place,
but searching left aside..
The scream could never leave a trace,
Here in my fleeing mind.

It just wants to understand,
to know the why and how.
To see where it is safe to go,
it needs to know this now.
The pain is like an acid rain,
it skews the sense of sight.
I know someday, I'll find a way
to still my fleeing mind.
