We live at Home

We live at Home

A Poem by Charles

Wait
Who said we didn't try
to fly, find our voice
THE idea, the motivation
we stood hot summer street corners
waving flags screaming, vote the nation!
Generation this supposed to be
inspiration that
carried us on destined wings
bound to heal
the domestic hic-
cups of beer
music, a good meal
on our plate
what we want is
to be grown
own a home
two kids a dog
in their eyes we shone
now
we
tarnish
grow bigger than
shells out loan after loan after loan

We live at Home

with parents who say
today's the day!
never get scared, never
run away
is what we do
to college, parties, and to you
we say, okay
okay, okay
okay to jobs
our minds won't play
there's time tomorrow
no time today
"Look at you, you
beautiful ray."
We're told day
after day after day

We live at Home
we often moan
noses in phones

you you you you
me me me me
you know, I might see
what they'r-

coo, coo

Wait
I don't know what to do

Wow this is a great poem...I often feel like I am just going through the motions and this poem expresses that feeling for me. I love when I can relate to something someone else writes. You have expressed the feeling beautifully.

Awesome! Glad I could stir some emotion in another with the power of words!
