The Beauty of the Palm

Beneath a brush of glist’ning green lush palms,
Where wind and sky have weaved between each branch
And sky reflects bright shades of perfect calm
What lay beyond; let temperate blue entrance.
The mys’try in a shadowed shroud of night
And looming high above in warm, soft air
What secrets do they hide from out our sight?
That beauty looms in dark by silent wares.
Though tranquil splendour boasts on windless days,
An Eastern wind that sweeps between Palm’s eye
Brings omens; dread. In eerie dark they sway,
When carefree palms then dance to angry skies.
The majesty and mys’try of the palm
Forever still in Beauty’s silent psalm.
