The Writer's Pen

To carve into a world of phantom dreams,

And diction is the magic in the flow;

The current in a realm of endless streams,

That flow into a realm we cannot know.

To capture in a phrase, the length of life:

Adventures in the darkness of unknown;

To toy with worlds, romance and lover’s strife,

And change the way of what we once thought known.

To reach beyond the bounds of Time we break

And grasp the tale by pen in endless lines,

To spring forthright, the lives of those we make;

Creations we construed from conscious minds.

The powers when we each create our blends,

Is endless in rivers of writers’ pens.

The last line is wonderfully constructed. Im a very descriptive and visual person so to envision that is.. interesting. I love it :D six lines from the end is the word "Time". Is it capitalized for a reason of significance or was it just a mistake? This poem really hits me because i agree.. completely and wholeheartedly. People underestimate the value of words. They can be the most intoxicatingly wonderful thing, or the most toxic of all burdens we bear. To leave this reality and enter your own interpretation of someone elses written world of words is... ugh. Its a mind-gasm :)

haha I agree! :) thanks for the review, Chase and sorry for my late replies. I sometimes capitalize things purposely though not entirely sure why when I do it tbh XD so sort of deliberate sort of a mistake lol Usually I personify time though in many of my poems, I think it's become habit for me now. I think of it as a force we face... If that makes any sense.. lol and that is very true about words!

Of course I enjoyed it, Mel :) And I know you are a busy little Nursey (did your capitalization thingy there) so don't worry about it! So long as you get back to me within 9 days. That shall be our limit and I don't think that to be too much to ask:) I definitely get what you mean about capitalization.. whether I am typing or writing with a utensil.. I find myself capitalizing certain things that don't warrant it, for various reasons. I always go back and correct them though, unless they are integral to the piece! And I know that you do that a lot with time... lol. It's in about half of your poems. It just stands out to the reader but with so much less intent than you are hoping that really it just interrupts your piece rather than amplifying it. Just food for thought!
