Our ChoiceA Poem by Mazie
Recall those days when shadowed walls were all
That closed us in; no words, no touch, no life; And naught could break nor mend my downward fall Into a world once bleak with scornful strife. Was then when seas returned to calming tides, And life was in our grasps; to choose our way. Now knowing what lay back, I watched the skies and there you were, when light returned to day. And never did I think that love would be As it was ought to be before the siege, But one it took, to save that dying seed, That grows still more, beneath its sheltered leaves. We chose way back when choice was at our doors; And still, I'd choose you, Love, forevermore.
