Expression of Speech

Unsure of will, of life, and those I trust...
Each word I spoke, I question: is it true?
Reflecting on these words called 'love' and 'lust',
And thinking which means what to me and you.
My words, what do they mean, or are they real?

The line now blurs between light-speech and thought,

Heart-felt or not, we say them for appeal, 
Unknowing if our words were those we sought.
So many have I heard before their time;
Sweet words of love, so pre-mature in turn,
And yet, they left impressions in my mind,
Which now I dwell on with mistrustful spurn.
The spoken word is naught but hollow speech,
Until they match - an action brought to each.

I like the description and the questions brought to life in the poem. Love and lust. Two different things. Love is forever and lust is need to be fulfilled. I did like the ending. Each need action and chance. No weakness in the excellent poetry. I like the poetry that make you think and ponder. This poem did. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I really like this poem the difference between lust and love which is an old question, I believe the difference is love is eternal and can never fade where lust vanishes over time. Good work.

Words are a problem....by definition and because they are defined. I guess that's why I love poetry. Actions not only speak louder than words...but bring meaning to the words we use.

Hollow speech- yea my dear.. i like how you give importance to honesty. Speak what you think. This writing comes from your heart. I like how you distinguished- love and lust, speech and thought. A small margin divides them. An introspective write. Well done amiga :) keep writing.

I take away from this the importance of saying what you mean in life, and saying it in a way that doesnt make things worse. I know some who have made a bad situation worse by saying something tactless or mean. And some dont care. So i think that choosing the right words is important, but we all need to not be so overly sensitive either.
