Dear FriendsA Poem by MazieThis sonnet describes how petty arguments can damage friendships for a life time.Dear Friends O mine, what canst thou find in feuds? Be it the action O the battle grounds What drives thou off yond mountain tops so skew? To rain upon the day, no joy be found And what sweet flowers bloom from sour cores? Those unkind spoken knots along the line, When years O tensions clot the heart’s front door And stop the flow; it’s turned to stone-like grime. What wasted moons thou spent alone at night Afraid to trust another living soul For what might be and not the truth at light, Thy fruitless tears show no remorseful goals. Oh how I wish to see rough waters calm But Friends, I shan’t abandon dear ones gone.
