Father

Father

A Poem by Mazie
"

My point in this sonnet is that at times, we spend so much energy and attention on the fine details, which causes us lose track of the main idea, to love and be the best we can be.

"
From High He reigns across the globe, beyond;
What Fathers’ love and care ever measured
To He who molds and loves us all as one?
Those lost remain your children - loved assured.
You guide them, love them; fight His red-hot flames
And burning cinders bear no power here,
Where lamb chops rest with ease by lions, tame,
And peace and love do purge both pain and fear.
But we the ones who still have yet to face
The challenge life has brought to be our best;
And led by blinded mice can’t lead us straight,
So we so often give into the rest;
But when Fall’s turned into cold ice and snow,
I pray that I may see your face a-glow.

Author's Note

This isn't my usual writing, but I found myself to be inspired to write it a few years ago, so please respect, even though you may not share the same views :)
Also, for anyone wondering, the seasons in this poem represent life and death

I like the thoughts in the poem. I'm 1/2 Ojibwa. I believe we are one with earth and we were create to get along. Not war. The many strong statements expressed a good view on life and death. We are free to decide direction, but we are not forgotten. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

We can definitely relate in that sense then :) I am more of a peace-keeper myself, I dislike any fig.. read more

This one is very interesting in that i can see parts of a divinity, and parts of human strength too. I am not sure what the red hot part means...

Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback ^^
I love how your wording is not only beautifully poetic but also intelligent. I'm not particularly religious but I like to hope that if I live the best life I can then something good will come from it.
