Midnight Star

Midnight Star

A Poem by Mazie

The Midnight Star, still shooting out his rays,
The shinning spit of light within the sky,
A blackened callous hole which follows Day,
And crushes that, the soul, to leave and die.
The winds of time would tell a tale too long,
Of starless skies and pained goodbyes before;
And in each star, they map forgotten songs,
Whose tunes tell tales, now thought to be forlorn.
But now that star emits a light so bright;
A guidepost in a world so void of cheer;
A soft and temperate glow across the desert night;
The light which sparks my hope for future years.
And Day goes by, all smitten by her light,
But I lay here, awaiting Star of Night.

A beautiful poem for the night. The night had it beauty and its mystery. I like the pace of the night. It seem slower. The strong description took me to be waiting and having visions of the stars waiting to appear for us. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Lol... your poem`s expressing something deep around the world with the midnight rays of moon which telling to the hearts about the peacefulness of "life". I think, you penned this write looking with your beautiful eyes over the darken sky which twinkles with the blessings of "stars" all around the world. Very nice poem. Great job!
