Lifting the fog

Lifting the fog

A Poem by Mazie
"

This sonnet is about moving on from past experiences/relationships and learning to trust again

"

An endless fog upon a wistful morn
Still shrouds those sun-lit skies up yond,
Though golden rays have melted longing-scorn,
The mind is left to wonder where it’s drawn.
And ‘neath the rays, there lay some fog still more,
Still sifting, drifting, ‘neath the shadowed trees,
And morning light has yet to touch its core:
A complex weave of mem’ries " only dreams…
But darkness lifts and fog begins to clear;
Uncertain of the outcome, all is brought to slow,;
Emotions, thoughts, all tangled, mixed with fear,
And mind and heart conflict with what’s unknown…
But in the end, uncertainty’s opaque,
So heart will win, no matter what the stakes.
