InseparableA Poem by MazieEmotionally charged sonnet, featured in my soon-to-be-published novel, Facets of Betrayal.
Nor wake nor sleep does pass me by in turns,
Without a thought of love’s last light, nor break In dawn as I lay open to those fi’rey burns Of feelings dry, unsaid ‘goodbyes, heart ache; I hate to love though dare not hate what light Did make my life that joy which once we shared; Perhaps in time, I’ll take a stand and fight; For dreams cannot compete, nor can compare With summer nights and fire-flies alight. Be there I rest ‘til Death hath made his rounds. Alas, there be one battle left to fight; But dare defiance? Aye, Time will wind down, And when the day be Fate has claim to you, Be that the day which I have fallen too. © 2014 Mazie |
