Seasons ChangeA Poem by MazieI wrote this shortly after I underwent surgery. This sonnet is about moving on from bad situations, and embracing new possibilities.
Sweet Autumn leaves now cover shattered dreams;
So long ago, now lost with Season’s change, A nightmare lived when Spring, it pulled the seams, I left that life, never again the same. The after-fall left but a weary heart Suppressed with fear of what had yet to toll… But I returned; triumphant battle scars Still decorate the body, mind and soul. The past is gone, in open and in close, My path now leads a wayward chalk outline And Time runs fast with those who dodge the snow, But I will move, and leave the rest behind. When times, we leave what cannot grant us good, We open doors; embrace the things which could. © 2014 MazieReviews
