Death at the opera

Death at the opera

A Poem by Kyle Jordan Eller

Death at the opera

Hot embers burn alone as I
Building has burnt but fire still resides
Inside my heart charred and scarred
Living as recluse, I continue to die

Life and love stripped
wandering like a mongrel dog
lost is life's melody
She's lost and gone out of reach

Why do roses crumble to dust?
The music has begun to rust
Forsaking my voice, Why should I speak?
My true mouth piece, She's moved on without me.

The best part for me is that it isn't dependent on the source alone it is its own organism able to create feelings with in other people without ever needing to know the source. Personally I've only watched the beginning of an older movie but I still love the poem and it stirs feelings all the same.
