Title: She's mine

Title: She's mine

A Poem by Kyle Jordan Eller

A poem for my daughter. Daddy Loves you Addie.

Title: She's mine

There is a girl who stole my heart
I knew her from before the start
At first she didn't even speak
Her eyes wandered deep in mine

She probably thought who's this guy
Growing up she spoke my name
My life was never the same
My heart, arms have been so warm

Holding love that's full of joy

The little girl who calls me dad
I thought I must not be as bad
My child you're beautiful in every way

I hope you understand someday

The girl who is my daughter
I would not trade or barter
She's my irreplaceable jewel
I'm so thankful I've got you

Hi, Kyle. I'm new here and thought I'd nose around a few portfolios. I don't write much poetry, but I do enjoy reading. You've written a lovely piece of work. It made me a little emotional, even, since I'm a mom. I like that in the beginning it seems like you're speaking of a romantic love (at least it did to me), then the delightful surprise is that you're writing about your child. Precious. Be well and always write.

This is so beautiful. No question your daughter will love you. If my dad had ever written anything as touching as the poem you wrote, there'd be no doubt I'd love him forever. So sweet and sincere, brought tears to my eyes! Great poem.
