I am not the moon

I am not the moon

A Poem by Fuzzy_Poluzah

the night is heavy
I can't hold myself steady
they wanted to love me
though they weren't ready

beating & breaking myself
the loathing I felt
over my hair & my belly
not golden enough for a shelf

what do I do
when I know it's true
he says I'm the stars
though he always wanted the moon

This is written beautifully. The ending is awesome, but the whole poem is relatable.
