This is very true, Wild Rose. That little boy in the picture has a look like he’s king of the world. I can well-remember such feelings as a child. The satisfying squish of mud under my feet and that reaction of water when I hopped in puddles. A very cute poem and wonderful return to childhood. Enjoyed this morning.

The road is now a well made one
A motorway cut the Hall (Kirklees Hall) off from the village (Clifton Brighouse)
Oh great! In its simplicity it says so much, and can be taken as a metaphor for many things!

This picture & your caption are priceless. I hope you are feeling better, little by little. I used to have a dog (Queensland heeler) & she would make a beeline to any puddle & she'd splash like crazy, which is impossible not to enjoy! Thanks for a great share & Happy Father's Day! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

My grandchildren love those muddy puddle too. Last year, was a large pile of dirt. Was a treat for the grandchildren. Mama wasn't so happy. Beautiful artwork and good words shared my friend.

There's something irresistible about a puddle. The deeper, the better. Children as well as some adults find they can't walk past without wading in. Reminds me of my brother. Water over the brim of his wellies. Smile on his face. He had found his heaven.
