I need a new mobile phone

27 February 2019

12:17

I went to the phone shop

"I need a new phone"

"You have come to the right place" the man said

"this one does emails; photos; videos; you can send 500 text messages per month;

It hold up to 200 contacts; > on and on he went"

"I just want to talk to people and maybe the odd text message"

"take this and try it you can exchange it within twenty eight days"

I took it home and spent all that evening putting in the names > No I didn't

I attempted to put my names in

The buttons where to small for my fingers

I tried using a pencil to push the buttons But every time  I pressed enter the name and number were deleted

I called the fire brigade, police and ambulance, the lifeboat was launched - well it would have been but I took the battery from the phone to cancel the call

The Church Army are still looking for the person about to comitt suicide

I took the phone back the next day "I am unable to work this Thing"

"I cant understand it" the man said

"i just want to make telephone calls in an emergency" "I dont want music or emails or anything fancy" "Jus a plain and simple; cheap to use; pay as you go; mobile telephone."

"Try this one, it has ten pounds credit with it, you need to make a charged call every three months"

Whoopee - it works just how I want it to

I have an all singing, all dancing phone I don't know how to use. I have to get my grandchildren to help with the technology. They just smile! I know what you mean, a simple bloomin phone, texts and phone calls, not much to ask for is it. They are becoming a rarity.

i agree with you
your lucky you found a solution..I went to Walmart and bought a Track phone .. I only use it on trips and for emergencies ... it is a month to month thing .. no contract... since i don't use it often i don't need the minutes ...but need to add the days every 3 months for under $30 ... and the phone takes pics and video and has the text capability ..but none of that costs anything extra ... as long as you have minutes and keep the days from running out you are good to go... i just read John Alexander McFadyen's poem "Customer Service" http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/Passion8/2097728/ ..you should check it out ;)

i don't know Wild One ... but i am sure that the reason is sinister ;}
My life is at an end.
I am most certainly condemned.
All is lost, there's no more hope left for me.
Its like someone took my backbone.
My mother stole my phone.

They crammed too many programs in to the little device and complicated the life. Any name or place my phone is not familiar with ...ensues a battle of wits with me.
The kids spend too much time on their gadgets, mastering the mechanics. I worry about their eyes being affected by the constant use.
You found a nice sales person ... usually they insist on making you buy things that only cause more headaches.
