Lost Love

Lost Love

A Poem by Wild Rose

Love Lost

You were there every day

Your pale unblemished skin, long auburn hair

So beautiful, always pleasant and caring

You inspired confidence in me

Yet even when physically close

You were apart a barrier between us

I came into your office

Not knowing it would be you that I would meet

We forgot the original reason that I came for

Talked about old times - people from our past

We both wished to get closer to the other

Sadly now it is too late

Too many ties that could not be broken now

We must go our own ways

Such a wistful sadness in your poem. You've found and laid words that show the past as an often sad creature. Perhaps best laid to rest. Yet to have felt as you did, and now write about, at least shows that what there was, was memorable enough to recall. :)

What I like most about your message - it realistically describes how we can be sooooo close, desiring more closeness, but sometimes an unbridgeable gap remains between people. So often humans go around in an imperfect state of "connecting"! Your poem conveys a hint of regret mingled with a hint of acceptance (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A wonderful poem my friend.
To leave those is not so lost. Yet there seems to be time in places we can still go to.

The closeness will always be there.
But they will never be a meeting of hearts, even though you're in their thoughts most days.
Sad poem.

Only sadness was that we hadn't made more of our friendship at the time
There is sadness, but also a bit of beauty to be found here. After a long while of being apart, it's a beautiful thing to see how love rekindles itself. I have yet to experience such a thing, but have thought I'd like to.

What the years have put asunder can't be stitched back together. Too much water under the bridge. A poignant write Wild Rose and a very good morning to you from sunny Torquay.
