Spey Bay

Spey Bay

A Poem by Wild Rose

                                                        Spey Bay

On the Moray Firth coast is a Nature Reserve

Spey Bay

Where Dolphins may be see frolicking about

If your lucky

We haven't been

Seals bask on the sand banks out in the firth

Ospreys swoop to catch lunch

Sand dunes and river walks

Seats and tables for picnics

Ice house from times past

From river Ice was collected

And stored to use to keep things cool

Shipped to London by the new rail

No fridges then you see

Craft shop with beautiful thing for pressies to give

Or keep for self - souvenirs

Cafe

Sarnies: cakes; tea and coffee

Even pop

Pleasant day

To just sit an watch

Sound like a wonderful place. I was lucky. I was station at Fort Ord, California in 1992-1994. Can see the whales and the dolphins from Pacific Grove cliffs. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. Made me wish for a year at Monterey. Thank you Wild Rose for sharing the amazing poetry.

I enjoyed your write about Spey Bay. I was attracted to the name because my two grandsons have the surname Spey and I did know that it originated from Scotland. I would love to have seen dolphins. We have seen seals today in Brixham. I love wild life. Your poem a lovely read Wild Rose.
