Autumn: Wind blow leavesA Poem by Wild RoseThe cold wind blows bringing leaves off the trees Whipping up those which went before Whirling down the path As Dervish in their twirling dance
A kaleidoscope of colour Red, green, orange, brown and white Twirling in a race To find some calm place to rest
A group come to rest Only to be picked up By the next strong gust To join in the twirling throng
The lawn is carpeted With a colourful mosaic In the calm under the hedge A drift of coloured snow
A new home for insects To hide out the winter cold Hedge hogs Snails and slugs
Until the gardener With rake and blower Move them on to an out of the way place Where birds can search for tasty bits PeteC 2018 © 2018 Wild RoseFeatured Review
