View from a mountain top

Robinson                           Dale Head      Fleetwith Pike                                  Haystacks

 

On top of Red Pike we stand

At three thousand feet

A three sixty degree panorama

Across to the Pennine mountain range

Behind is the west coast

The Isle of Mann and North Wales

The Irish Sea

And beyond to "The Emerald Isle"

The Solway Firth and Scotland

Grassmor, Whitless Pike and Whitesides

Newlands Pass - The road to Keswick

The Buttermere Valley;

Your words together with the posted image of the mountain tops, show what a glorious panoramic view there is to be seen. Red Pike does have extensive views and looks perfectly tranquil. Nothing like a bit of solitude to brush the cobwebs of life away. Lovely poem.

How fabulous being up there with no one else in sight.

Think you would love to live in this part of the lakes
Plenty of places where you can find solitude - with a view
You may have to spend some time and energy to get to it
Like the fell tops
A bit of a scramble - like going to Friars Crag (east walk) then scrambling down onto the lake shore below with a view across Derwent Water to Cat Bells - Left to Borrowdale - Right to Lords Seat
