Sweet contemplation. This piece was a pensive one. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful silence captured here. There is a certain level of peace attained from staring at the waters. The ripples alone are inspirational enough for the eyes to linger. The speaker in this piece seems to reach peace from watching her watch those reflective waters. She seems to get lost and the track of time is derailed while she's watching. It's apparent that the lake is very meaningful for her and just as important to the speaker. I love the picture, it definitely aids the imagination. Great read.

This picture was taken early on a misty day facing the rising sun
Brings on such quiet, hushed images of reflection near a lake. The mist does symbolize opacity and doubt, as does the absence of sun, a certain downcast feel to the words. What goes on in another's mind is often a matter of puzzlement to us and a matter of trepidation sometimes, if we love them.

Wow, thanks so much for the info Wild Rose!
It's nice to know new things!
This is a cool look at perspective and I love the image you paint. The feel is ominous to me and also tranquil at the same time.
I am not too big a fan of the word "lake" being used twice in the first stanza, and I'm not sure how I feel about "thinking" being used twice, but I absolutely love how the end sounds, especially from "what is to be" to "not me".
I really appreciated reading this one!

I don’t think you need to COMPLETELY rewrite it! It is beautiful!
This poem paints a very profound picture but still leaves the reader with a thought that lasts for a long time after one has finished reading it.

silence with nature can sometimes be the best companion a person can ask for because there is a time to reflect on how things are going on in your life and what to do about it, it speaks inner courage too
