Break during lessons

Student were a bit dozy after lunch

So we had a break

Talk about things visitors ask

Student wakes up

I have one for you

 

Just left school

Working on the boats (Derwent Water, Keswick)

Selling tickets

On 'The Landings'

 

Man aske for a ticket to Windermere

"Sorry sir the boats don't go to Windermere

You will have to catch the bus

Down the road one hundred yards"

 

"I know these lakes are all connected

And I want to go to Windermere"

"All right sir Fifty pence catch the next boat

Tell the man to put you off in Windermere"

 

Boat comes in

Man gets on

As boat leaves

Students friends comes up

 

"The boats don't go to Windermere"

"You know that

I know that

And when he gets back He will know that"

 

"And when he gets back

He will have missed the last bus"

"Time we were off home for tea"

That is so wicked!!! I know the Lakes and love them.. know this and that about the sweet wicked humour up there too.Is the Hole in the Wall your way! Just read again, needed a smile to sleep on./ Making big note.. acquire time table in advance. Thanks for sharing.

Yes Teenagers (well They ones I knew) had a strange sense of humour
Hole in the wall (I think is Langdales area - need the map) From here Road to Keswick then Grasmere - Ambleside then look for the signs (don't got that way much) OR Wasdale; Sty Head Tarn round Skafell Pike: across to Langdale Pikes and the path down to the village (Takes longer but its a nice walk)
Time Table? trains/busses or steamers

I hostelled for ages in college days then briefly first yr. uni. Visited on off til family moved to Scotland. Would still stop off near Elterwater if possible.. drink in the mouth-watering calm ! A walker's pardise tho the Jurassic coast path 'aint bad either - local to me and of course, different! :)

It is now completely free of traffic and part of the C2C (St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay route )

I'm needing a holiday.. but need to find wheels first - yet again. I like to drive distances rather than train (or plane), stop off wherever.. but yes, will re-visit, i rarely 'do' noise except the occasioanl event that's friend based, open air and some good red winei's on offer. Apart from that, am a reasonably well behaved UK citizen!
