Derwent Fells

Derwent Fells

A Poem by Wild Rose
"

From the Keswick Landings Derwent Water

"
                                                     Derwent Fells
Cat Bells                                   Grizedale Pike                                          Lords Seat

   The island                                                                                Friars Crag

Some say its the jewel
In the Lake District Crown

Others say

Elsewhere

In an area as this

Some say its the jewel
In the Lake District Crown

Others say

Elsewhere

In an area as this

The choice is too great

To say which

Is the very best

All I do know

Its best where I am

To day for me

Tiss here

Tomorrow

Another day

Another place

Best will be there

To say which

Is the very best

All I do know

Its best where I am

To day for me

Tiss here

Tomorrow

Another day

Another place

Best will be there

That part of the world is beautiful. We have visited and taken a boat trip. The fells were quite dark and broody when we were there, but the colour when the autumn sun came out was spectacular. It certainly could be called the Jewel in The Crown. Your photograph shows it at its best. Enjoyed this read and I have also written a poem about Derwent Water, but it is in my file and not yet posted. I enjoyed the read, thank you.
