House-cat

House-cat

A Poem by Big-Blue-Apoptosis

I am a fat house cat,
sitting at my window,
and looking out
with smart little eyes
at all those portly pale humans
slowly zooming along
 in their oversized chevy's
on their segways, or on little legs
toddling for the next great hunt
that wild and free cheeseburger
and I know that they
might put me down someday,
So today I give them hell.

My revenge,
my furry little rebellion.
I poop-scoot the carpet,
then scratch up their precious couch,
and they'll be mad,
 and possibly,
they will try to take me down sooner,
and no one will say a word on my behalf
except the children, with big eyes
and hopeful hearts,
who laugh at my antics,
who appreciate me for who I am,
and not for what they want from me.
But, ah yes, today. Oh no, I cannot die today
For today, I am king.
