What Makes You Real?

What Makes You Real?

A Poem by John

A needle in the vein?

A child in the corner scared and bloodied?

The sweet scent of the juices from the night before?

Scientific proof and theories of existence?

Stitches in the wrist waiting, screaming to be opened?

The realization that all you love withers and dies?

The violence when they come home late?

The baby you will give a glorious life to?

God?

Helping your fellow man?

Curing the deadly disease?

Standing up for those without words?

Live in the orthodox, exist in the unorthodox.
