Detox

One day I woke up

and knew I had to take the risk.

I rid myself of all the poison 

people within my life,

those who were just an obstacle

between myself and happiness. 

I removed any unhealthy

fear of being judged,

and replaced it with a confidence

to do whatever I want to do. 

When I relieved myself 

from all the toxins in my life

I felt free. 

My life was bare but I had

a clear and pure starting block

to build upon.

I've felt numerous times like I have rid myself of these people and these feelings, but it seems they don't want to cease. I really feel you here. I know those kind of people who have nothing better to do than to judge. People are so scared of what they don't understand. It's inspiring to hear from someone who made their way out of it. Great poem.
