Hidden

I feel that familiar build up inside me,

my tears threatening to leak,

the emotion wanting to be seen.

Stay hidden.

You tell me how tough I am

and how it appears nothing can take me down.

Oh how I wish that were true. 

I play along with this fantasy

before I have the chance to be alone.

I close the door,

finally allowing a tear 

to trace a path down my cheek.
