Constant Chase

That feeling

of not knowing what you want. 

It's like you're chasing something

that isn't there.

 

You keep going,

unfulfilled.

You have a goal in mind

but even when you reach it,

it feels like you're only halfway there. 

 

The constant pursuit

that only seems to lead you on further,

teasing. 

I wonder

if I'll ever be truly satisfied.

Welcome to the WC! I like your poem, and it's a question that's difficult to answer sometimes--probably yes for times, but maybe not for always. Hmm... your poem raises more questions than answers, but it does so very effectively.

I do know this, though, you're never satisfied as a writer. There's always the next poem, story, or book. The next idea, rhyme, or metaphor... and on and on. But, this is what makes it fun! Keep writing and have fun here. Thanks for sharing!
