Losing Battles

This is a poem about the challenges of living. The struggles we face. The horrors we encounter. This is about the problems we all face. And how some of us are losing our battles.

Sometimes the Pain
Will make you Numb.
Sometimes Hurt
Doesn't Hurt
Any... More...

(Hurt...)

When the Cannons boom,
They don't make a Sound.
And when my Heart pounds,
It doesn't make a Noise.

(Noise and Sound...)

I sometimes Think
I'm Fighting a
Losing Battle,
Losing Battle.

Losing Battle.

The guns Shoot,
Men will fall,
Women will fall,
People will fall.

(All fall... Will fall...)

The fire Blazes
As I'm Overwhelmed,
As my People
Fall...
Dead...
And cold.

I sometimes Think
I'm Fighting a
Losing Battle,
Losing Battle.

Losing Battle...

They take Aim.
I stand my Ground.
Tall and Proud,
Tall and Proud.

But as they Shoot
I begin to think;
I begin to wonder;

IS THIS A LOSING BATTLE?

Losing Battles are Fought.
Wars are Lost,
And Wars,
They're Won.

But sometimes...

I still stand my Ground
In Our
Losing Battles.

I've tried so Hard,
Sacrificed so Much,
Given up my Faith.

And I've Fought
My Losing Battles
To
The
End.

But sometimes,
I'm tired of the Fight.
But I can't Back Down,
Not yet.

Because this Battle is my own.

This isn't some angsty thing over some girl that broke up. This isn't about violence.
