Humanity

Standing upon this mighty land

The wind blowing through my hair

The endless wild sky covered in clouds

Constricting my thoughts

 

I must know the secret of life

A ray of hope pierces the blanket of fog

Beam down upon me!

Must stay grounded

 

A rush takes over my pride and stature

King and Queen of this world

It's all in my grasp

Let me take to this sky

And make my name

 

Holding my arms out like wings

I can feel the sensation of flying

Looking down on the ground

I can still see my feet

 

Stubborn to believe I am still grounded

A song played for warriors of the past is humming

As I stand here today

I am all mighty against this world

For I am part of humanity!

I hope SpokenWord keeps up this picture prompts. Your poem is the perfect example of how awesome it's gonna be to read different interpretations of a thing that has no context. This is about as far from my version as you could have gotten, and I had to laugh at the contrast.
