Ancient Wonders

Ancient Wonders

A Poem by Shiningwolf

Glowing in the darkness of night

Piercing through all evil thoughts

Making a world of their own

No wait, a galaxy.

Pin pointing one is impossible

Their rays mesmerize

Only by one curious look

They create pictures in the mind.

Standing along time

Growing ancient as they float

Not knowing what secrets they hide

They have seen all this world's strife.

Giving hope to ones that set out

And comfort for ones that dream.

Stories that lay hidden

Only can be imagined by one's thought.

Stand in awe of their stature

For they are the mighty

Soon one day we will travel far

But only when we become a star.

I really enjoyed this poem especially because I'm a huge star gazing fan...I always feel lost in another world and time when I can lay back and watch millions of them twinkle away...It reminds me of the time when I get the chance to visit Cherry Springs PA, about an hour from where I live. They have star gazing parties and astronomers from all over come to view the stars because it is one of the few "dark spots" left in this country with almost no light pollution. Wonderful job in capturing the beauty and awe

The title alone was fabulous. The poem, itself, spoke volumes. Nice job.:)
