Blades of Grass

Blades of Grass

A Poem by Shiningwolf

Mischievous little green fingers

Popping out of the ground like a giant

They do what they want

They will be defiant.

Commit no harm as they will

Give them time

Time to complete their task

They have a whole world for us to find.

Giving life from under our feet

Nursing the hunger that burns

And brings a view

Helps when a stomach churns.

They lived here longer than us

Covering this world

They bring life to many wonders

And give us a good whirl.

So many things come from them

They complete their task

They let the world know its healthy

All of this found, in blades of grass.

Very nice tribute to the fields of grass... Ironically I have a similiar poem (mine is religous) called "Ode to The Blades of Grass" LOL I think you would enjoy reading it. This poem flowed well and had an easy to follow along meter, and it remained true to a consistant flow... Excellent Job! 100/100

I love the respect you so kindly set aside for grass. I can't wait til spring when we can run around barefoot!

Beautiful tribute to an oft overlooked and underappreciated Nature Teacher! Excellent wordcrafting, and an instant favorite for me. Great work!

This piece is very well written. It's expressive and a delight to read! It's nice to see someone take a part of our earth that we dont pay much attention to and turn it into a beautiful thing. :)

nice, full, thick fields of fresh green grass, are without a doubt one of the most relaxing things to see.
grass is pure, simple, and unique. there is not one other plant that is as widespread as grass.
as i read this poem i felt grass between my toes, and a nice blue sky over my head. a very nice nature poem!

I loved this. A subject so simple, but beauty was brought out of it.

"Mischievous little green fingers

Popping out of the ground like a giant

They do what they want

They will be defiant."

Amazing part.

Great job! Love all the imagery you did for the beautiful green grass, who knew it did so much, which you captured so well in your poem!

so much in such a little thing. I always loved nature but never fully got into natures mind. I think technology takes over me a little too much. :) Anyway this was a wonderful write and I loved learning about a single blade of grass.
