City

City

A Poem by Shiningwolf

Cars have stopped

Frozen in time

They sit to rust

The great fountain is dry

No water

And no wishes.

No sounds are heard

Walking down the street

The city is alone.

Empty streets

With bright lights

Attempting to pierce the dark sky.

The city fights

With all its might

To keep the darkness away.

Lights start to go dim

The city starts to die

As it turns pitch black

Voices are heard

From far away

Give the city warmth.

Mechanics fix the cars

Workers fix the city

The lights are left

To fill with your love

To turn them back on.

And shine forever.

Do you sense it?

The city is not alone

For it lives inside us.

I like this piece. It was different and creative but still had all it's meaning. Well written :)
