A Time of Peace

Put down your guns

Put down your knives and swords

Why do we fight?

Is it because we are bored?

 

No this will not do

This should be a time of peace

Why is there pain spreading?

Look at all the police.

 

Look all around you

Hear all the wonderful sounds?

This world is amazing

We should not be bound.

 

This violence is nonsense

This is not why we were made

We were not made to kill unwisely

Watching all the souls fade.

 

People will cry

Their tears pierce hearts

Their screams rise to the heavens

As we are slowly torn a part.

 

So stop these wars

Why can we not share?

After all, we are all the same

We should all care.

Very important message in these times... stop the callous, nonthinking violence... which seems to just bring on more of the same
