New and Old

New and Old

A Poem by Crystal Marie Rome
"

I have a lot going on right now and writing is a vent for me. Please Comment! :)))

"
A new book,
A new book,
So shiny and inviting.

An old book,
An old book,
Yellowed and well read.

A new book,
With it's mysteries.
An old book,
With it's well loved pages.

Which shall I choose?

I have one person saying,
"Read the new!
I'm only halfway through
But it is glorious already."

And many other shouting,
"The old is what you have read all your life,
It is the one that you love so much,
The one you flip through only to smell the pages."

Which shall I choose?

I am already reading the old,
But the new is being thrust into my hands,
Do I want to read it?
Do I want to drop the old and pick up the new,
Never to look back again?

Which shall I choose?
Do I even have a choice?

I say keep the old and read the new! You can always go back to the old if you don't like the new!

Nice ending lines.. Giving something to ponder over is a nice idea.. This poem can well be applied to real life situations with us having to make a choice which thwarts us into a dilemma... Nice poem.. Liked it..
