This poem actually started out as just three lines but I thought the poem was incomplete so I added more.
P.S. The three lines were stuck in my head for around ten hours, I'll italic the lines.
Through deceptive calm,
Through deceptive starry light,
Only those who fear the night shall bear this Curse.
Death Follows Death,
Life Follows Life,
But do not Fear the Fire that burns only at Night.
Ha! It was a good one. It's the words that touch the heart. It is also nice bcoz you spun the poem centering those three lines. It is a skill that all poets must acquire....
One beautiful, if not heart chilling poems i have read. I am not quite sure if i fully understood the meaing, but that is what makes it interesting in poetry. The mood this poem touched me with was fear and hope, which is the few things i ca fid in these kids of poetry. I like it!
This poem is deep. I can't exactly say I understand it all, but that's the beauty of it, especially since you chose to write about such a mysterious subject, the fire of the night. Beautifully written, this poem gives an ethereal feeling. Strangely beautiful, but yes, beautiful all the same and a bit haunting.
