The Dawn

The Dawn

A Story by Crystal Marie Rome

I've been reading Charles Dickens recently so please excuse the wordiness. This is an unedited piece as well so criticism is welcome. Also, this contains some religious views. Please Comment! :)

When the dawn comes and takes away the night, opens up to light, takes away my fright. How simple is a thing such as the dawn? It is only the sun rising in the east... But there is a beauty too it that is like no other. It turns the sky pink and orange, it changes the clouds from white to pink, orange, and purple, it signifies that it is no longer time to sleep. When the sky first starts to lighten in the morning and the birds start to sing. I see the bright orb of light slowly lift up above the mountains that I love. Turning the green landscape around me a beautiful gold and silver. The maple trees shine with their grey bark and silver leaves. The beauty of the dawn bringing the full beauty of the landscape to the for-front of natives mind. This beauty is unique to this place, for it is not only completely unique in its plant life and image but it is also unique to every eye that beholds it. My father and I went through this land at one time, on one of those old forgotten roads, and I shall never forget his words at that time.
"This is God's country." He said.
My father didn't say it reminiscently, sadly, or even rejoicing, he simply stated that that is what it was and is. Those words are something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. So every time the sky starts to lighten in the morning and the birds start to sing. Every time I see the bright orb of light slowly lift up above the mountains that i love. Every time they turn the green landscape around me a beautiful gold and silver. Every time the maple trees sine with their grey bark and silver leaves. The beauty of the dawn brings the full beauty of the landscape to the for-front of my mind I think, "This is God's country."

Excellent! Not too wordy at all. Reading Dickens, eh? I think the result is quite positive.
