A Poem by Crystal Overmeyer-Birmingham
In truth I don't really like rhyming poetry, but this is about my husband and he brings out the hopeless romantic in me.
If I with eyes unwept on you before laid sight could mine eyes be washed clean enough to view you in true light? And what if you captured mine heart before the start would I, Nay, could I allow you the conquerors part or should I without the grifeI've know pass you by blind to the love you've shown And if my past is but a start and you, my love, the finish Than I, My past, give heaven thanks and would not one memory diminish

I don't like writing or reading rhyming poetry usually either. But I do enjoy it when it's well done. This was executed flawlessly. No redundancies whatsoever, no alterations of true meaning behind it. It's a success. Likewise, I like how it feels olden; I feel immersed into the middle ages and courtship love.

I usually don't like to rhyme as all, i feel like it is constricting and limiting. I don't think you feel in perfect couplets and it feel unnatural to me. But what can i say this one just wrote itself. I read it to him at our wedding. its special to me because its end of one part of my life and the new chapter to a brighter future. Thank you for the review

About
I am a poet by nature. Words just speak to me and color my world. I away think of poetry as painting with phases, just as vibrant and life giving as they are messy and complex. more..
