Deep CosmosA Poem by CrozbyO, deep cosmos, Unending void: Little is so bewildering, Little is so beautiful, And nothing is so unknown. Outside our world Lies something beyond us, Something we can’t control, Something we can’t govern, Something we can’t know. You make so many feel so insignificant; So powerless in the face, Of something so grand, So unbelievably grand. But not I. I don’t cower In fear of the unknown, I charge headlong. I don’t feel small compared to something so large, I am thankful to be part of something, Something so much bigger than me. Because you know what? Just as a clock doesn’t function without each gear, The universe isn’t the same without you. We each make our mark on it, We each scratch our name On our corner of it, Our insignificant corner. And impossibly small though it is, It’s a corner all our own. And whether that name be written, In shaky trepidation- Or exuberant confidence, Is up to you. © 2018 CrozbyAuthor's Note
